Beautiful corporate culture of
¡®sharing¡¯ and ¡®participation¡¯

Kumho E&C is continuing its effort to contribute to the society through trust-based management and corporate responsibility management. ¡®Sharing¡¯ and ¡®participation¡¯ are the principles of Kumho E&C¡¯s contribution to society. Kumho E&C is carrying out the social contribution activities in a variety of fields, including disaster relief activities, support for the underprivileged, environmental campaign and arts & cultural activities. For this purpose, the company runs the ¡®Beautiful eullim volunteer groups¡¯. Over 100 volunteer groups are participating in the social contribution activities at least once a month. In order to carry out the social contribution activities more systematic and professional, leaders are appointed and workshops are held by team and site. The company also provides support for the voluntary services, including sup port of expenses.

¡®Eullim house¡¯
campaign

The love house campaign is the representative social contribution activity started in 2004. The Eullim house activity is of great significance in that it is a social contribution activity through choice and focus, an activity in link with community, and voluntary participation of vendors. Kumho E&C¡¯s Eullim house campaign is the activity in the field where the company¡¯s expertise can be exhibited. The campaign aims to provide efficient value to both provider and beneficiary. The Eullim house activity is performed for the underprivileged adjacent to the sites of Kumho E&C. To make fair selection of the beneficiaries, the beneficiaries are selected among the candidates recommended by Social Welfare Department of the local si (or gu) office. The company visits the beneficiary, estimates the cost, decides whether to carry out the work and the size of the work, and carries out the project.

Starting from Eullim House No. 1 in Baebang-myeon, Asan-si, Chungnam in 2004, the company has completed the 27th Eullim House in Songsan-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggido. The company also carries out Love Hose activity (Nos. 1~9) in Vietnam.

sisterhood relationship

Kumho E&C sets up sisterhood relationship with farming villages to find the way of win-win relations between cities and countries. The activities include volunteer activities during busy farming season, purchasing agricultural products, and invitation to the company. The farming villages set up the sisterhood relationship with Kumho E&C include "Shincheon-ri village" in Songsan-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and "Deungsu village" in Sanpo-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do. Executives and employees of Kumho E&C carry out voluntary service to provide the villages with helping hands.

Blood donation campaign

While low blood supply becomes a social issue, employees of Kumho E&C participates actively in the blood donation campaign. The company carries out the blood donation campaign in head office and the sites across the country since 2004. Over 700 employees are participating in the campaign in a year, and they donate the certificates of blood donation.

Disaster relief activities

Employees participate in the voluntary disaster relief activities in the area damaged by heavy snow or heavy rain.

Support for social
welfare facilities

Kumho E&C delivers social welfare activities to the underprivileged, including children, unfortunate youths, the disabled and the homeless. The company gives a helping hand to those who are needed the most. A social welfare facility is selected for each work site of the company and is provided with goods and voluntary services. Kumho E&C carries out the social contribution activities in reflection of its business type.

Kumho E&C has defined and proclaimed that the social contribution activity is not a way of PR or a choice, but the most important business area and a must of the company.

By trial and error at the initial stage, Kumho E&C has continued efforts to secure expertise in the social contribution activity. The company established the area of major social contribution activities, including social service activities, voluntary cultural activities and environmental activities, and has discovered the themes of social activities to provide bigger benefit to beneficiaries. The representative activity is the Love House (Eullim House) activity. It is a strategic them for social contribution in which Kumho E&C can exercise its characteristics and expertise of a construction company, and maximizes voluntary participation and contribution of vendors to the communities.
